Local hours, in Dar es Salaam time. This is what global access costs you in a working day — the markets your money sits in open after lunch and close after dinner. How that shapes the way portfolios are run →
Who this is for
The gap between a bank account and a family office
Below roughly half a million dollars, a good app and a low-cost index fund will do most of the work. Above roughly five million, a family office will take you on and build whatever you need.
In between is a different problem. A company you cannot easily diversify out of. Property that is slow to value and slower to sell. Perhaps a trust, or children in three countries. And a bank whose shelf ends at government paper and a short list of funds.
That is the range Hament is built for, and it is the reason the firm exists in Dar es Salaam rather than somewhere with more of these clients per square kilometre.
- On the range
- The half-million and five-million figures are the firm’s own description of the clients it is set up to serve. They are not a regulatory category, a minimum, or a threshold you have to clear.
- Reporting currency
- Portfolios are reported in US dollars, including Tanzanian assets. Why, and what it means for your figures →
What the firm does
Four services, priced and sold separately
Where the money sits
Your account is in your name, at Interactive Brokers
Hament Advisory never holds client assets or client money. Custody and execution runs through Interactive Brokers, where the account is opened in your name. You can log in to it directly, see every position and every charge, and you would still be able to if you stopped working with this firm tomorrow.
That arrangement is the reason the fee page can be as specific as it is: the costs are separable, so they can be listed separately.
- What Hament can do
- Place trades and rebalance under a written discretionary mandate you sign and can withdraw.
- What Hament cannot do
- Hold your assets or your money, or move cash to any account that is not yours.
What it costs
Nine published rates, not one, set by service model and portfolio size. Discretionary mandates also carry a performance fee of 25% over a hurdle. The full schedule and everything it excludes are on one page. See the fee page →
